Reclaimed Wood Desk

This desk was built as a personal project using nothing but reclaimed wood — not a single material was purchased. The chunky butcher-block top is laminated from salvaged softwood planks, hand-planed and finished with natural oil. The dark-stained trapezoid legs are assembled using traditional Japanese joinery: long wooden dowels driven through the joints in place of screws, secured with wood glue. Every screw on the desktop is concealed beneath wooden plugs sanded flush. A raised monitor shelf sits on dark walnut risers with LED strip lighting underneath, and four cable management holes are routed through both levels at key positions to keep all wiring hidden. The result is a clean, solid workstation that supports dual monitors with zero visible cables.
